The Pit
is a new short indie horror film written, directed,
filmed and edited by Steve Savage for Totally Different Productions.

The story so far...
200 years ago terrible atrocities were committed in these woods. Since then,
nobody has dared venture into the woods. Or if they have, they simply vanished.
The locals dubbed the woods "The Pit", since it was the darkest, most
foreboding word they could come up with to describe what happened.
It is now the 21st century. People are curious about the environment all around
them. From the far reaches of space to the deepest depths of the oceans. We
trust in our technology and our safe worlds. We don't fear the unknown anymore
because we think that science has revealed all the dangers to us. Big mistake.
There are some things even science hasn't discovered yet.
An excerpt from Tucker's log is transcribed as follows:
"...he mentioned some of his research to me before he left, promising to
explain
everything when he got back. 2 days he said. It's been 2 weeks... Now it's up
to me to find Chris and find what it is he was on to..."
That was the last log Tucker made before he left for The Pit.

The movie was shot from
September to November on location in Bruce Pit. The short film (approx. 25 min.) is shot in S-VHS and
digitally edited to preserve the full quality of the original analog recording.
The Pit is available as a low quality download on
the official Totally Different Productions website and a high quality DVD or VCD
version should be available early in 2002. The Pit is in 16x9 format instead of
the standard 4x3 NTSC format.
